 Tartan Day - April 6

Can you DANCE?

"There are two seasons in Scotland:
June and Winter" - Billy Connolly

“I was playing chess with my friend and he said, ‘Let’s make this interesting’. So we stopped playing chess.”

Tartan Days is the largest celebration of  Irish, Welsh and Scottish heritage in the West. It's held in Floyd Lamb Park, Las Vegas NV, around April 14 and 15 of each year (Sat. and Sun.).

What would you include in such a celebration?
piping = bagpipes
drumming
athletics - highland games
dance
food and drinks?  What to expect? CLICK

Not much on the Irish-Why?  I'm not Irish and never do St. Patrick's Day.  We Scots patron Saint day is St Andrews day (Nov. 30) and love house parties with food, dance, music, and drink, but we celebrate Hogmanay more = Dec. 31st.

Do you like Scottish Gaelic - like in a song? The Welsh celebrate Saints Day on Mar. 1, St. David's day with a big feast and it's the time to wear daffodils.
 St David ordered his Welsh soldiers to identify themselves by wearing the leek or daffodil on their helmets in an ancient battle
